Am Sonntag, gegen 21.50 Uhr, befuhr ein 73-jähriger Radfahrer die Ringstraße in Richtung Lange Straße. Als er diese in Richtung Steinweg überqueren wollte, missachtete er die Vorfahrt eines 19-jährigen BMW-Fahrers, der in Richtung Geseke fuhr. Trotz einer Vollbremsung konnte der Autofahrer den Zusammenstoß nicht mehr verhindern. Der Radler stürzte auf die Straße und zog sich Kopfverletzungen zu. Er wurde zur Behandlung ins Krankenhaus eingeliefert. Einen Helm trug er nicht, die Beleuchtung am Rad funktionierte auch nicht.
