Im Rahmen einer Feierstunde im Haus Nazareth erhielt Franz Pieper am vergangenen Freitag das Bundesverdienstkreuz am Bande. Ausgezeichnet wurde er vor allem für sein
Engagement beim Musikzug, beim Volksmusikerbund und in den letzten Jahren auch als
Vorsitzender des Kulturrings Störmede. Hier war er vor allem mitverantwortlich für die Dorferneuerungsmassnahmen und den Dorfaktionstag.
