Am Donnerstag, gegen 16.15 Uhr, befuhr ein 34-jähriger Ford-Transitfahrer aus Geseke die Lange Straße aus Richtung Geseke kommend in Richtung Langeneicke. Als er in Höhe des Kiosks hinter der Einmündung zur Schützenstraße ein Mädchen am Fahrbahrrand erkannte, das offensichtlich die Straße von links nach rechts überqueren wollte, bremste er das Auto bis auf ca. 30 km/h ab. Da der Autofahrer glaubte, dass das Kind ihn gesehen habe, fuhr er mit dieser Geschwindigkeit weiter. Als er dann kurz vor dem Mädchen war, lief dieses plötzlich los und wurde trotz einer Vollbremsung erfasst und stürzte auf die Fahrbahn. Das 6-jährige Kind erlitt Prellungen und Hautabschürfungen und wurde vorsorglich mit dem Rettungswagen in die Kinderklinik Lippstadt gebracht, wo es zur Beobachtung bleiben musste.
